What we offer…
Being rooted in community has become increasingly more difficult in our society. Rooted Advocates exists to provide everyday people the space, whether in person or virtually, to support one another through life’s challenges. A Rooted Space is one that feels safe, inclusive and honors that each of us brings our own experience that is worthy of being heard.
Community Building via Supportive Spaces
We host inclusive, community-based peer support groups focused on mental health, trauma recovery, and life transitions. These include:
Parents of medically complex children
Individuals managing financial stress
LGBTQ+ community members
Survivors of trauma and chronic stress
General mental wellness circles
Each group incorporates trauma-informed, culturally relevant practices and community-led facilitation.
Cultural Healing & Identity Exploration
We offer programs that guide individuals in exploring their cultural and ancestral identities through:
Screenings and discussion circles of impactful media including narrative documentaries and other works
Art-based healing circles (painting, visual storytelling, collage)
Music therapy sessions and rhythm-based group experiences
Horticulture and gardening groups as metaphors for grounding and growth
These experiences are designed to promote emotional safety, self-discovery, and connection.
Community Network & Resource Access
Rooted Advocates cultivates a community-led network to connect individuals with:
Community based resources for individual or family needs
Local mental health providers, support services, and financial counselors
Mentorship on building social capital
Peer mentors and community elders
This network functions as both a support system and an ecosystem of empowerment, with a focus on dignity, equity, and cultural validation.
